Selecciono rostros de mujeres chilenas de finales del siglo XIX y los plasmo sobre telas cianotipadas, luego bordo frases sobre ellas, aludiendo a los micromachismos en la poesía y la vida cotidiana. Proyecto en proceso
Las imágenes utilizadas son una selección de fotografías de archivo recuperadas del libro: Retratos de mujer 1880-1920, Chile, MHN. En él se observan las primeras fotografías en donde aparecen mujeres en la historia del país, en su mayoría mujeres acomodadas de apellidos de renombre que con este proyecto toman un nuevo significado
El proyecto se plantea como una reflexión sobre la representación de la mujer en Chile a través del tiempo, como las percepciones de lo femenino y el sexismo se repiten 100 años después, principalmente temas como el lenguaje, la instrumentalización de la mujer y los micro-machismos que obviamos en la cotidianidad.
Fabrics of the lineage
I select the faces of Chilean women from the end of the 19th century and I capture them on cyanotyped fabrics, then I make sentences about them, alluding to micromachisms in poetry and everyday life. Project in process.
The images used are a selection of archive photographs recovered from the book: Portraits of Women 1880-1920, Chile, MHN. It shows the first photographs where women appear in the history of the country, mostly wealthy women with renowned surnames that with this project take on a new meaning
The project is presented as a reflection on the representation of women in Chile over time, as the perceptions of the feminine and sexism are repeated 100 years later, mainly topics such as language, the instrumentalization of women and micro- machisms that we ignore in everyday life.
